Are YOU Fighting for a Corporation Tax Refund?
Posted: Monday 16 August

Silicon 8 have been pursuing a case for a Corporation Tax refund due to the withheld VAT as an allowable bad debt.

Initially, HMRC in the CT Appeal case had to agree that this is an allowable bad debt case, but have now changed their argument to have the CT appeal stayed behind the MTIC appeal. This is based on their "new" argument that it isn't a bad debt because the withheld VAT should not be re-paid.

If there are any other companies in a similar position as Silicon 8, we would be interested in hearing from you.

WANTED – EXPERT WITNESSES FOR VAT TRIBUNAL APPEAL CASES

Study of past decisions show that traders have severely reduced their chances of success in VAT Appeals because they have not effectively challenged HMRC’s so-called expert evidence.

We believe that the majority of HMRC claims can be disproved if adequate resources are devoted to collecting and analysing authoritative information which is then presented to the Tribunal.

To achieve this we are seeking:

1.  Accountants and businessmen who have experience in brokering/who... (click on the headline to read the full article)
